Swimathon
Hi everyone! For those of you who were not at the time trials or were unable to hear the announcement, I would like to re-announce our fund-raising event for this year which is the Swim-a-thon.
Last year, we had several mini-fundraising events. This year we thought we could try one major event (the swim-a-thon.) This event is being sponsored by Tim Minor with State Farm who will help offset some of the cost of running a swim-a-thon. Proceeds will help go towards the cost of running a swim team. These costs include coaching salaries, supplies, equipment, and fees necessary to compete in the Greater Peninsula Swimming Association. If there is any excess profit, it will go to much needed diving boards which cost $16,000 for a refurbished board!
We are asking that each swimmer try to raise at least $20. Since we have a sponsor now, we have lowered the requirement to earn a shirt to $50 per swimmer. For any families with more than one swimmer, only an additional $10 will be charged for siblings.
