Happy Tuesday Mudtoad Families!

The countdown is ON! Looking forward to seeing everyone back on deck next Tuesday when Mudtoad season officially kicks off for the summer. Be on the lookout for an email from Cole Younger, our Head Coach, later on this week with details and what to expect the first days of practice. 

This is a quick note to let families know that this season's schedule is updated and loaded onto our website: https://marlbankmudtoads.swimtopia.com/

From our website you can:

• Opt-out of meets: This is a change from last season!
  • Click on the "Meet Entry" button and choose "not attending" if your swimmer is not available to swim that meet. You will need to do this for each meet your swimmer is NOT available. We will assume your swimmer is available to swim if you do not sign them out. You no longer need to declare that you are attending and there is no option to select events. There is a box to put any notes to the coaches. 
  • This does not guarantee that your swimmer will be entered into the meet, but allows the coaches to see who is available to swim. 
• Job Signups:
  • Beside each swim team event (pancake breakfast, meet, time trials, etc) there is a "Job Signup" button.
  • Click on the button to sign yourself up for the job(s) you want to do. 
  • You are required to sign up for 3 shifts per swimmer registered. You can certainly sign up for more than your minimum requirements--remember swim team cannot operate without our parent volunteers and we appreciate everyone chipping in!
    • Committee chairs check with Melissa Johnston ([email protected]) regarding shift requirements for your family
  • IF you want to do a position that requires training (officials/scorekeeper/etc), those shifts will be open, as well as other shifts. Please complete the required trainings next month to remain eligible. If you are new to the team or interested in becoming an official, please let us know!
  • Descriptions of Volunteer Positions are in the Team Handbook section of the website and by hovering over the info (i) circle next to the job.

Also, please download and sign in to the Swimtopia mobile app. This will provide access to alerts, meet info including event/heat progress, job signups, and previous meet results for your swimmers (as far back as 2017). 

Please only sign up for meets for which you will be available. Also note that this may mean that you are volunteering for a meet in which your swimmer is not swimming. Again, we cannot operate without parent volunteers!

Finally, we will hold a parent meeting on Thursday, June 1st during the elementary practice (5:00-6:00) to answer any volunteer questions, meet-specific questions, and to give parents an opportunity to ask the coaches any questions. Practice that day will end 15 minutes early to give the coaches the chance to talk to parents.
